Laszlo: ” Do you see that woman there? She is from a good family She was soon married and quickly gave birth to a boy and a year later, a girl.”
Sarah:” If the purpose of this story is to annoy me, you succeeded.”
Laszlo:” the purpose is to make the point she is quite similar to you.”
Sarah:” with a not subtle distinguish being that she is married and has children.”
Laszlo:” She had children. Six months after the birth of her daughter, assuming a despicable act that young woman submerge both her children in a bathtub until they were drawn…and to the wealth and influence of her family she was spare from being sent to prison or institution however instead of proper treatment she now walks the park daily pushing an empty perambulator.”
Sarah:” but I can find no empathy for a mother who take the life of her own children.”
Laszlo:” Do you understand the expectations that our society bestowed on our women to marry, to have children, to smile when you feel incapable of smiling ..if you can empathise with that you know better than most that the poor young woman with an empty baby carriage didn’t form herself rather society formed her… you say you can’t see the world from perspective of a child killer because you could never kill a child
I believe we all possess the raw materials required to commit horrible acts, we just need the right and wrong combination of events to make raw materials combustible.”
